We were taking a break from playing in the sun and I snapped this photo of Irene adjusting the bracelet we had made together.

Kelsey Cain
Ghana
This picture is just a glimpse into the friendly and welcoming nature of the people in Ghana. They were some of the most genuine people I've ever met and make me want to bring the world into my classroom.
Katherine Clark

Mandruia, Italy
This summer I worked at a bed and breakfast in Southern Italy. This picture is of the owner of the bed and breakfast, Maria Grazia, and the young daughter of a woman who worked there.
Katherine Kendall
Gion, Kyoto, Japan
Gion is Kyoto's most famous geisha district and one of the most famous in all of Japan. Despite this, the geisha are rare and I was lucky to catch a glimpse.
Austin Mack
Kiev, Ukraine
A couple locks a love lock on Love Bridge on a very cold November morning in Keiv, Ukraine. A love lock is a padlock that is engraved with a message and a couple's name then locked on the bridge. The couple then throws the key over the side symbolising that as long as the lock is locked to the bridge the love of the couple will still exist.
Jasper Mills
Guajira, Colombia
This is a portrait of a young girl who is a member of the Kogi tribe in the coastal jungle region of Colombia. Their communities were heavily exploited during the civil war in Colombia so they have fled into the upper regions of Colombia. This was from a seven day hike into the jungle where we were able to speak with the populations.
Kari Slagle

These children at the Mater Ecclesiae Preparatory School were singing us a song, the ABC's of AIDS, before we left their classroom for the day.
