As one of the few tourists to attend Holi (the Hindu festival of colors), I did not know what to expect. We decided to walk the 2.1 km to the main local temple but never made it. The village locals stopped us at every turn, covering us with colorful powders and paints, enveloping us in huge hugs, planting blessings and kisses on our foreheads. Every person on the street was full of smiles and made sure that the foreigners got an extra helping of Holi.
